From the gateway city of Kangding, to nomadic scenes of Tagong, through beautiful valleys to Danba, the diversity offered over 11 days makes this our most popular tour in Kham Tibet.
The Eastern Tibet Photo Retreat is designed for an intimate group of photographers who want to explore a remarkable part of the world - while also deepening their relationship with their art. You’ll learn to approach photography as a tool for personal discovery, insight, transformation, and growth while exploring the incomparable landscape and culture of Eastern Tibet. This is an immersive creative and cultural experience that you’ll carry with you for the rest of your life.
What We Offer
There’s only so much we can learn about photography from books or websites. We grow when we expand our boundaries, immerse ourselves in the creative process, and explore the world with eyes and heart wide open. Our Eastern Tibet Photo Retreat will help you slow down, become truly present, and see more deeply - so you can see emotion, mood, light, and form in fresh new ways.
What Tibet Offers
Enjoy breathtaking landscapes from 4000m+ mountain passes. Join religious pilgrims on walks at ancient sites. Appreciate the history of Tibet with guided visits to temples and monasteries. Experience life in Tibet’s version of the Wild West. Photograph Tibetan craftsmen at work with behind-the-scenes access to local artisan’s studios.
What You’ll Gain
Each evening, we’ll review your images - so you’ll head out each morning with greater awareness and confidence in your vision. Our conversations will include topics like: Moving beyond conventional, “touristy” images - towards more artistic views; widening your definition of “the perfect subject”; making relaxed, expressive, authentic portraits; showing mood and deep emotion in your images; letting light (instead of subject matter) guide your visual choices; connecting with people even when you don’t speak the language; finding your true, wholehearted, and authentic vision; and so much more!
See your skills strengthening every day.
See the quality of your artistic vision deepening every day.
